Ribbon Introduction

A ribbon is a flexible piece of material, usually made of cloth, but can also be made of plastic or metal. The general purpose of ribbon is to bind objects, to connect two objects together.
Cloth, especially silk ribbons, are generally associated with clothing, but can also be used for decoration, commemoration, or symbolic purposes. Cultures around the world have also used ribbons on hair, bodies, even pets or buildings. Ribbons are also used as decorations for wrapping gifts. Typewriters and dot-matrix printers use dyed ribbons to store ink.
